Outbreaks of foot-and-mouth disease and bluetongue have been recorded in EU countries. As a consequence, there are high risks of diseases in the territory of Ukraine.
In the Main Department of the State Production and Consumer Service in the Zakarpattia region, a "hotline" was created to receive calls from citizens of the region in case of suspicions of animal diseases such as foot-and-mouth disease or bluetongue.

We appeal to the owners of animals: for now - everyone should increase attention.
Farmers and animal owners must be extremely vigilant and carefully monitor animals for timely detection of disease symptoms. In case of suspicion, contact the "hotline" immediately.
Briefly about foot-and-mouth disease. The disease is manifested by fever, vesicular impression of the oral cavity, whisk, cows have an udder, and young animals die without symptoms. Foot-and-mouth disease affects a wide range of animals: cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, camels, buffaloes, which, deer, roe deer, Gazelles, saigas, tours, moose, wild boars, antelope, zebra, elephants, bears and other ungulates.

The clinical signs of bluetongue include: fever, salivation, swelling of the lips,inflammatory and necrotic lesions of the oral cavity, cyanosis of the tongue, conjunctivitis, redness and gangrene of the breasts, abortions. Sheep get bluetongue, goats, white-tailed deer, buffaloes, antelopes, moose and other ruminants.
remind, that additional veterinary and sanitary measures were adopted at the extraordinary meeting of the National Committee of the National Committee of the National Committee for the Prevention of Foot and Mouth Disease under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to prevent the introduction of foot-and-mouth disease and bluetongue viruses into the territory of Ukraine. This is strict adherence to biosecurity measures on farms, movement of animals takes place only in the presence of accompanying veterinary documents, etc..
